Q: What is your most popular theme for children ages 2-5?
A: The Pirate Princess Treasure Adventure: it is co-ed, the children get to partake in arts and crafts by decorating their boxes, and they get to be accessorized as pirates or princesses and keep the items they find on the hunt. This can help eliminate the need for goodie bags if you so choose, as the children will be going home with 6 items each including a pirate box (boys) or princess box (girls).
Q: What is your most popular theme for children ages 6-10?
A: The Craaazy Carnival theme: it is co-ed, the children can go off and do their own thing by playing the games either in groups or by themselves, and there is no one set activity so even children with the shortest attention spans will continue to enjoy themselves.
Q: I want to upgrade to personalized invitations, but my package comes with generic ones. Can I substitute them or receive a discount?
A: Unfortunately, no. This is because we could receive a discount on printing our generic invitations in bulk, but cannot receive a discount on personalized invitations since they are specific to a certain party, theme, child, etc. We must print personalized invites in a specific amount and cannot get a discount on printing in bulk.
Q: What comes in the goodie bags?
A: 3 food items (such as a bag of chips, gummy worms, and a nutra grain bar) and 3 toy items pertaining to the theme (so if it is a Pirate Princess Party, the boys will receive items like a pirate coloring book and the girls will receive items such as a princess bracelet).
Q: What types of music and dancing games do you provide?
A: For children ages 2-5 we will play the chicken dance, the hokey pokey, parachute, games, and the limbo. For children ages 6 to 10 we would do the Cha Cha slide, the Cotton Eyed Joe or Macarena, and the limbo. The bubble wrap freeze dance is great for all ages.
Q: What is the bubble wrap freeze dance?
A: We have sheets of large bubble wrap and lay them on the ground while the children are hiding their eyes and counting to 30 for the “special surprise.” When they open their eyes, they see the bubble wrap and are told that when “Who Let the Dogs Out” plays they are to jump up and down and pop as many bubbles as possible! When the music stops they are to FREEZE and hit a pose pertaining to the theme (jedi pose, pirate pose, dancer pose, etc). This dance is a huge hit with parents and children alike, is phenomenal fun and a wonderful addition and ending to the dancing games.
Q: What kind of piñatas do you have?
A: We have several types for each theme. For a spy theme we have a magnifying glass, for a princess theme we have a castle, for a pirate theme we have a treasure chest, etc. If you have a unique theme or created a custom theme we have a piñata where we can tape a Mylar balloon to the front of it.
Q: Do you have piñatas that you hit?
A: No, we have pull down piñatas. The birthday child will be called to the front at the end of the party and pull down the string to release the candy with the help of a party assistant.
Q: Why do we have to email a photo of our child?
A: We ask for a photo of your child so we can put it on his or her personalized birthday poster card for all his or her friends to sign at the beginning of the party.
Q: How far in advance do you need a head count?
A: It is nice to have a head count a week in advance, just so we can check our inventory and makes sure that we have enough supplies for your party in order to avoid large shipment fees. We will later need a name list.
Q: How far in advance do you need the name list?
A: We ask for the names and genders of each child to be emailed to us 3 days before the party. We understand that at times some parents might not RSVP, however it is necessary to the success of the party that we have this information.
Q: Why do you need the names and genders of each child?
A: At many parties there are personalized items we give out (Pirate Princess treasure boxes, Stuff-A-Pet adoption certificates, Star Wars Force Academy Diplomas, etc). We need to start personalizing these items at least 3 days before the party and cannot do so unless you provide us with that information. We also require the gender of the children so we can be sure to personalize the correct item (i.e. boys don’t get princess boxes and girls don’t get pirate boxes).
Q: What is required to book a party?
A: A date, time, and $200 deposit is required to book a party. Although we prefer to have a party theme and party package on the date of booking as well, we understand that you might want to take some time to discuss the details with family members.
Q: What if I don’t want to put down a deposit but am positive about the date and time I want my party?
A: We can “pencil you in” to our calendar. This means that we will tentatively write down your name and number in that time slot. If there is interest in this time slot from another family, we will go ahead and give you a call. However, is another parent wants to book that time slot right away and give a deposit we will do so and simply call you to let you know it has been booked.
Q: Is the deposit refundable?
A: Up the 3 days after you have booked the party it is refundable up to $100 (so if you book on Monday and change your mind on Wednesday, we will credit you back $100). After the third day the $200 deposit is non refundable.
Q: Can I receive a discount?
A: At Creative Dream Parties we strongly believe in pricing integrity. We believe in charging the same amount to all of our clients and keeping our prices low in order maintain the integrity we were built upon, but also to keep prices far for everyone during the current economic status. We understand how difficult times are, but they are difficult for everyone and so by keeping our prices low and equal we hope to provide wonderful birthday celebrations at a reasonable cost.
Q: What is the structure of the party?
A: When the children first come in, there is a poster card of the birthday child which all get to sign, and a bubble machine and music playing to get the children warmed up. Then we sit down and play a name game. After, we have pizza and juice and then we execute the chosen theme. Then we turn out the lights and put on our disco ball and start our dancing games. If preferred, we serve the ice cream sundae bar, do birthday cake, give out the goodie bags and piñata (all these are optional).
Q: Can I come and view a party in progress?
A: Unfortunately, no. While we promise to give you our full attention at your party, we must provide that respect to all of our hosts and do not allow visits during the party. You can, however, see the party space before or after a party.
